Search the Mailbox
Say you wanted to find a message by a key word. You can
Search the Inbox. By default, Outlook will Search the Entire Mailbox, including all of the folders.

3. Try It: Search the Mailbox
Go to Mail->Inbox->Search.
Enter the Search words: Plain Text.
Click
Search, or press Enter on the keyboard.

What Do You See? Outlook will Search through your Mailbox and return any messages that match your Search criteria.

In the example on this page, Outlook found a message we created in the previous lesson.

Do This, Now: Clear the Search Results
Click on the small, red X to the right of the Search box. This will close the Search Results. You should return to the Inbox.
